Human
A.I.
For this project, we were able to work smoothly as a group to write our take on a classic scary story, and both create our own rendition of it as well as prompt A.I. to replicate it. I found that I preferred our human made version, as it included more thoughtful intonation and sound effects, making the story overall more immersive. Our own version gave us a better sense of accomplishment as well. We had to use learned techniques such as word choice, vocal intonation, and editing. Whereas the only skills you need for an A.I. writeup would be enough basic grammatical skills for a basic idea.
A.I. is a powerful tool when it comes to speeding up a creative process, but at this point in it’s evolution, you need to be willing to give up some emotion driving qualities that only humans can provide. As far as our process for creating the A.I. version, it took a lot less time and would require a lot less resources for someone to create. Whereas with a human made version you may need enough actors to fulfill each role, a proper microphone, headphones, and various other equipment, A.I. only requires Internet access and a Google account (sometimes).
